Databases and knowledgebase have become ubiquitous as tools for organizing and managing information with support of knowledgebase and database management systems respectively. An intelligent knowledgebase system has the capacity to acquire, store, retrieve, communicate, process and use knowledge for the purpose of solving problems. A database management system is also designed to assist in maintaining and utilizing large collection of data. However, a knowledgebase system differs by performing and supporting tasks which usually require human expertise to complete. This study introduces descriptions of current databases and knowledgebase, and compares them in terms of structure, design procedure and management, techniques for content acquisition, storage and retrieval mechanisms and applications
